Dialogue Workshops

As a result of intensive studying and researching different methods in the field of dialogue training, we have selected specific methods as the most useful for teaching dialogue skills. We offer these skills in our workshops.

We believe that learning the skills goes beyond the acquisition of new knowledge (cognition) to include also other dimensions emotions, memories, learned ideas and values. Participants will practice the following core skills for engaging in dialogues:

  • Self-awareness (personal mastery) and efficiency
  • Ability to create a suitable atmosphere and essential preconditions of dialogue

Workshop for Strengthening Dialogue Skills

The main activity in this workshop will be to practice dialogue through a series of activities based on theoretical understandings. This type of workshop can be counted as a platform for experience. That means that each participant will have an opportunity to learn about their own thoughts, mind and behavioral patterns through engaging in the practices introduced during the workshop. Dialogues will be directed so that participants discover obstacles to dialogue and come to an understanding essential details of the process. To help participants realize the necessity of dialogue, concrete suggestions will be offered. The content of the workshop will draw upon the experiences and memories of participants so they can learn from one other. Since art has an impact on creativity in human relationships, the workshop will include activities such as reading stories, role-playing, painting, music, and sculpture.

Workshop for Empowering Parents through Dialogue

This workshop empowers parents to have a better relationship with their children. It is recommended that both parents participate. This workshop, based on teaching dialog skills, will be offered in 30 continuous but independent sessions. In the time between sessions, parents will have enough time to apply what they have learned and record questions regarding the new material, to ask in following sessions.

Skills parents will obtain by the end of the workshop:

  • Discovering the concept of dialogue and mastering its skills
  • Better understanding their own role as parents
  • Achieving new personal experiences and drawing conclusions from these
  • Identifying new learning about their children (and other people)
  • Experiencing new emotions, meanings and horizons

Workshop for Training Dialogue Facilitators

The aim of this workshop is to train dialogue facilitators. It is anticipated that participants of this workshop will hold their own dialogue workshops in the future or become facilitators for a variety of problem situations, such as those in which dialogue has been attempted, but has failed.

In this workshop, concrete aspects of understanding dialogue will be presented in detail and practical terms, ready for application. Participants will practice dialogue according to ten core dialogue skills presented, and then step back in order to critically discuss their own dialogue experiences in the workshop.

Self-development of facilitators is a critical part of this workshop. An important aim is to give facilitators the ability to discover their own patterns of thinking, including prejudgment and prejudice. The more participants learn about their own limitations and understanding, the better the quality of their own participation in dialogue will become. A key to understanding this dynamic is that the facilitator must develop mastery over their own assumptions. That means that facilitators will develop an ability not only to pay attention to their own patterns of thinking but also to become witnesses to their own behaviors.

This workshop can be tailored to the varying needs of different organizations, groups, and individuals.
